Tatyana Ali, former star of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, graces the pages of King Magazine’s September issue. Check out these snippets from her interview…
Do you think it’ll make people forget about Ashley Banks?
Sure, maybe. It’s not my goal. But it certainly stretched me as an actor. That’s why there’s something about the art itself, and performing, that I truly love. That still drives me. I’ve been in this business for 24 years, so there are a lot of things that I know intuitively. If I’m in the position to bring up an incredible writer, director or producer, I’ll do it in some way.
What are your thoughts on black Hollywood?
It’s kind of like the Wild West out there, and not just for black Hollywood. In a traditional sense, things look bad—there are people out of work, shows aren’t going up and a lot of films aren’t being made, because of the fear of actors going on strike. 50 Cent has slammed the mother of his child Shaniqua Tompkins, claiming she has “kidnapped” his son Marquise in a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine!
“It wasn’t important before the beginning of last year because he (Marquise) was being home schooled… I was paying a teacher $60,000 just to teach him by himself. He was learning slower because it was just him and the teacher. So he needed to go to where he had the best possible schooling district and I found a house in the area that was, like, $1.5 million.”
“Her lawyer decided to present to the public that 50 Cent is kicking his son out of the house.” Since the fire, Tompkins has fled with the rapper’s son, as she battles custody and child support.
He adds, “Now they done kidnapped my first one (son). My son’s mother got him, holding him hostage.”
WOW… ‘Fiddy’ and his baby mama drama is something very serious. Check out what he has to think about her future business limitations.
“I bought the rights to her life story so she couldn’t write a book.
“I seen her being ridiculous; I knew her capabilities of going in that direction, so I bought the rights.”
Cold blooded! But maybe, just maybe… Shaniqua possibly had this coming to her.
