Various entertainment/news websites, including The Rundown, posted a 40 second video preview of Chris Brown’s exclusive interview with Larry King. In the clip, the singer was questioned if he remembers of the night he assaulted former girlfriend Rihanna. He replied “No.”
In defense of his answer, Chris Brown releases this statement:
There have been reports on the internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.
That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times—and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.
The first four times—or how ever many times it was—I gave the same answer—which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time—or whatever it was—I just misspoke. I was asked, “Do you remember doing it?” and I said, “No.”
Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before.
As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future.
Whatever happened that night should be the business of those involved and those that matter. We BELIEVED in Chris’ sincere apology and even when labeled himself as not being a “Monster.” We stick to that and hope that only him and God continue their path to his peace and success.

I am in awe of how Chris has handled this whole thing. I’m proud of him for taking responsibility and for protecting Rihanna’s privacy. I hope both of them have successful music and entertainment careers. God Bless you Chris!
Whatever happened should remain between Chris & Rihanna . It’s over, we ll need to let burn. Whats done is done. Chris has apologized & I believe him. Both have moved n with their lives. The past is the past. We should all look for positive things from Chris in he future. I certainly will. God forgives , why can’t we.

Chris was WRONG FOR WHAT HE DID AND MADE A VERY GRAVE ERROR IN JUDGEMENT. I DON’T CONDONE VIOLENCE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BY A MALE OR FEMALE. But if Chris Brown is to be strung up by his hands and feet, hung upside down and skinned alive, then so should every gun-toting, DRUG-DEALING, criminal-minded, wife-girlfriend beating actor, actress, musician and entertainer in the industry. Just wish this same outrage existed when Sean Penn, BeBe Winans, Wesley Snipes, Bishop Weeks, JayZ, Christian Slater, Axle Rose from Gun’s N Roses and the like committed this senseless act! I guess everone on planet Earth and in the Universe deserves a get-out-of-jail free card and a second chance except Chris. Matters not if WE forgive him. What matters most of all is God’s forgiveness and forgiveness of self. I think Jesheua (Jesus Christ) said it best: “Let he who is WITHOUT SIN AND FREE FROM BLEMISH, cast the first stone. If you recall your Biblical history, not even Jesus threw one!!!
it was all on the radio this morning about how he said he didn’t remember. calling him a liar and getting all emotional over nothing. like he said it was a 30 second clip of a whole HOUR show… people are so quick to throw people away for one mistake in their lives. never mind all the bad decisions and the few times in their lives they may have lost it… hypocrites. he appologized which is more than some folk have and people forgive. look at that old nasty pervert who married his wifes daughter. and folk are QUICK AND EAGER to work with him. stupid asses….
man, he lost control, yet he took responsibility for his actions. That is what a man does. He shouldn’t have to keep apologizing if he’s already been judged, convicted and sentenced. I wish people will let this young man make it. He’s not the only black man that has lost control of his temper and regretted it deeply, and he deserves forgiveness. Chris and Rihanna should be making money from this six months ordeal. They have been the envy of the world. A lot of people are jealous of them because they are young, black and very wealthy.
Whatever the issues were between them is personal and we should leave that alone. I hope Rihanna will see the goodness in Chris too because she knows he a good man. Chris is still in love with Rihanna and Rihanna seems to be in love with Chris.
Their problem is that five year stay away order. I wonder if the judge imposed this order according to the state statues of California. It seems crude to keep them away from each other with no e-mail or phone contact for five years.

I agree this is a private matter. I also agree that this whole incident should no longer make headlines or sidelines. Let’s move on.
However, I don’t think he should have agreed to do the interview if he didn’t feel it would be appropriate to dicuss what happened that night. It would be ignorant for him or his reps to think he was going on Larry King LIVE and he wouldn’t have to discuss what happened or why he did it.
