Do we even need police? Police are crooks and crooks are police…They flood way more dope than they took from the streets.

Ok since everybody going in one direction I will take you minds in another direction. When your mom or dad told you to do something, you did it even if you didnt agree right? If you didnt, what happened? I got my *ss whooped. Even if my mom was wrong for telling me to do it, that was the point she was making. She whooped me based on the fact that I didnt do what she told me to do. Control. She wanted to make sure I knew who was in charge and who had the power.

Once the police decide to arrest you….guess what…..you getting arrested! They arrest people all the time, even though they are in the wrong. They arrested Martin Luther King Jr. Thing is when they are arresting you, even if they are wrong for arresting you, you must comply. If you dont comply with being arrested, force will be used. There are guidelines for use of force. That is why it is under review. That is the power that we as voters have given police. They are like mom and pop of society. The question is was it too much force? Well the guy was still resisting? So how much force would make him comply? How much force was needed to arrest him? I am not a champion for police. I am just giving the other side of the coin.

I feel you Red, cuz shit, i had my a$$ beat many timez for not listening to momz, but the issue at hand is that he was already down. Why do you need to keep using force against someone when they’re already down?? I can see if he kept jumping up or sraight up attack them, but damn. It’s just like in a mental hospital. When a patient resists to take their medication and gets totally out of control and starts acting like an animal, the psych techs don’t beat down the patient, they gang up on ‘em, hold them down and give them a shot to calm them down. We have three officers here. Why couldn’t one hold his legs and the other two put them arms together and cuff that nig? I think the beating was a lil too much.

this does not make any sense what so ever. that’s messed up it’s a black police officer doing the beating i swear when sum of us get a lil authority for sum reason we tend to not know what to do with it. that officer needs to be fired and have the same thang done to him. red i feel wat you saying, but the video is not about jus getting arrested if you do something wrong. we dnt kno if he did something wrong, thats jus wat they are saying. i bet if you were gettin beat like that, that would you be trying to cover up from getting hit. dude was already on the ground wen the officer was hitting him and i didnt see him resist. i saw a man trying to cover up his body from getting hit so many times. it wasnt like he was kicking at the officers or something, he was already on the ground and being held down by the officers partner. officers abuse their power everyday.

Cause while he is down he is still not complying. He is still resisting arrest while he is on the ground.

When you get arrested ….if you ever get arrested. Have some dignity and class or they gone whoop yo *ss. This is not like they kept beating him once he was cuffed or if he had complied and they beat him. They whooped the cuffs on him.

On a joking note(cause that’s what we do…find a way to laugh) I know that cop was mad when he lost his batton. Remember how ya mom got when she was whooping you and the belt slipped out her hand. That cop had a flash back.

Lilah21 - actually he is on his back when the video starts with an officer on him with a knee. Somebody tell me when a person has ever been arrest on their back. Police dont tell you to lay on your back so they can cuff you. LAY FACE DOWN! HANDS OUT TO THE SIDE! DONT MOVE! We are quick to assume wrong doing but I have seen some people resist arrest for whatever reason and it never ends good.

People standing right there watching. Nothing in the video tells me that he willingly laid on the ground. You can not resist arrest. Force will be used! Now how much force is in question. They seemed to only use enough to get him hancuffed. He luck they didnt have that Stun Gun and pepper spray. They dont show him being beat once hancuffed.

Red this was too much in my opininon. Yes my parents did chastise me…however my parents were saved…(believers in Christ) and of course emotions get the best of humans…and there were times my parents went excessive on the physical chastisement of their kids…and those were the times I called them making restitution to us by hugging us, pulling us in their arms…and even apologizing to my sister, brother and I.

Cops are trained…when I taught school, my coworker was one…my teacher was one…and a lady I previously just not to long ago stop dating was a cop.

They have to maintain a higher level of sensibility dealing with citizens. They have the power…they have the weapons…and they are trained physically, and mentally on how to de-escalate a situation. I didn’t see any of this training here.

Look at the force that cop was using when bringing the club to that man’s knee! I will not make an excuse for these cops…This is bul**** in my opinion.

Red I’m not saying that you are making excuses for them. But even from their point of view…”If they tell us…and we are insubordinate…they have a taser…they have backup…that can come to aid them in physically subduing us. But this is brutality…towards a man that is on the ground.

What did these cops expect him to do…not react to the painful blows they were inflicting upon him?

i totally agree with real, this man was on the ground. the video doesnt show him resisting arrest, so its the officer word against his. and there are different ways to handle somebody wen they resist arrest.my mother is a police officer so i kno, i have been with her wen shes on duty. they use pepper spray or tasers, but one thing they dnt do, is use their clubs on people and beat them, unless absolutly necessary!!! and those people who do use them, black or white, are only abusing their power. if i was getting beat like that, i would be trying everything in power to stop them from hitting me. i wouldnt jus lay there and take it and i kno you wouldnt either. all that man did was try to block blows coming at his body, now if thats resisting arrest, wat does not resisting arrest and gettin beat at the same time look like. get serious red please!!!!

100, u said it all. That’s the point I was trying to make. It’s a little excessive. You have three cops there. They could have grabbed this man up and pushed him onto the car instead and then cuffed this dude. What is the point of beating someone over and over again? This is sad!

I see yall’s point. Who decides what is too much force? He never willingly complied. When people dont comply with orders being given by police officers force will be used. You have to ask yourself how he ended up on the ground in the first place. The ask yourself this: If he had complied with being arrested would he have gotten beat?

If a police makes a traffic stop, and you are in the back seat fumbling around….the officer will tell you to put you hands where he or she can see them. If you start moving around again, they will get hostile. Keep moving and the officer will draw on you. Move again…reach down….and pop pop shots fired. Now we may think that is messed up cause the person was just trying to hide some weed but not complying could get you killed. Those blows were bad but they didnt get the man to comply and that is what they were suppose to be for. This is not like Rodney King. The man was not helplessly being beat. He was not complying with orders given by the officers. Officers that were arresting him. That in itself is resting arrest. The officers used what has been issued them to use. If they had a taser, it would have been over quick. Hit him with the taser, let him squirm a bit, cuff em.

Dang I didnt mean to get long but do you know what happens when they send the dog to get you. Even if the dog is biting you, you have to comply with the officers orders and if you hit the dog…..an animal….it is charged like hitting an officer. People dont have an out cry about that though.

I would have complied in the first place. The tape would show me not doing anything but what I was told until I started getting whooped on. I have class and if I am arrested I want fight it. I respect the position of authority that police are in.

Lets take a look at this with a trained eye. Some assume that the altercation took place right where they are. Nope I dont think so. When you take someone to the ground with force there is no way you stay in the same place you start at. Where is the man’s left shoe? Now look behind the black officer….do you see the long stick like object in the street? What is that black or blue bag looking object on the sidewalk? Look again do you see the man and lil girl walk into the picture? Is that a silver can(24 ounce) on the sidewalk? “why should I get beat up for something” THat is all he had to say. What was that something. Now keep looking. Where is the officer hitting the man? Stategically on and about the legs. No bodys shots or head shots. That tells me that the officer was in control of himself. People are around making there presence felt and the officer continues to do what he is doing to get the man cuffed. Wait they pause….the talking to the man….he still not complying. Two donut eating officers on his chest talking to him after one round with the stick and he still not complying.

A batton was issued to the officer. When is he suppose to use it? It was issued for a reason….so when is it suppose to be used? How is it suppose to be used? I dont care for the stun guns because you dont know how somebody’s body will react to them. But if the officer had a stun gun and used it and the man had heart attack and died we would be upset about that too. “Even if he did fight at first” …wow…so you can fight the police and then quit when you start losing. LOL! But the dude never quit resisting until the cuffs where on. So it is safe to say that the officer did what he thought he needed to do you get the cuffs on the man. The lawyer admit “even if he did try to fight at first” you know that means he tried to fight. So what would you do if you are a cop you try to arrest someone and they fight you. You have a batton and a gun. The person want let you cuff them and is not doing what you tell them. What do you do?

Just for kicks go watch the tape of the guy trying to rob the store and while trying to get the woman’s number she shoots him. While he is on the ground she talks sh*t to him and shoots him again when he moves. What did people say about that use of force? The deep rooted dislike for police is showing itself. Just like black people dont want the bad black people representing them, the bad police shouldnt represent all police. With out police a lawless person might take your cornbread.

I dont believe this black officer is bad police and just wanted to whoop on that man. If that had been the case the real beating would have occurred one the cuffs was on. That is all I will say on the subject.

I am going to agree to disagree with you because I feel strongly in my opionion of what I see. I am not saying don’t do what the police tell you to do the first time. I am saying that was an unnecessary amount of force and it is proven when the officer lost his batton that was God saying stop hitting him. Plain and simple.

The black cop was over stepping his boundaries…they had the criminal on the ground. He was no longer a threat.

He didn’t have any weapons!
His body was more immobile than mobile!
One cop had his upper body subdued…the black cop (asshole in my opinion) was literally trying to cripple him in the knees.

Getting hit across the shins with a metal rod is not fun and nor will you keep still while the person is hitting you. So I don’t know how you expect a guy to comply when he is being held down and getting hit at the same time. He is probably thinking they are going to beat him to death.
